The plane ride there really was an experiment for us. I knew that Oliver would need to have his bottle on the plane, no big deal. I figured that since they offered hot coffee as a complimentary beverage that they would have hot water. I was wrong. We were in the very back row of the plane, which means that we were very last to be served. Oliver was starting to turn into crabby pants and the stewardess was only half way back to us. I went up and asked her if she had some hot water and she informed me that she would be back to help me very soon.
*side note, our stewardess looked like she had stuck her face out of the moving plane. I am all for plastic surgery if that is what you want, but for heavens sake, still have your face able to move.*
So, by the time she made her way back to us, Oliver was full out not happy. I asked for some hot water and she said that there was none. I wonder how they get the coffee hot.... So, here is what I did. As much as I hate it, Oliver wont take a cold bottle, but I had it all mixed up anyways. So I took the vomit bag, ripped the top off to make a little short bag, put some oatmeal in with the cold formula. Then I asked for a spoon. Lame me didn't pack one in the diaper bag and lame plane didn't have one either. So, I dipped his Binky in the oatmeal and fed him that way. I am sure it was good entertainment for those around us. Lucky for us, that was as dramatic as our trip got.
Once we got to the resort, there was plenty of time to relax.
One morning, all of the wives went to the meetings with their husbands- I had zero desire to go sit through boring Kiewit stuff. I had Oliver in the daycare they provide and went to the gym. After that I got ready to go to the pool, but the meetings were still going on. I was in the room all alone and was feeling super bored. What do YOU do when you get bored? Me? Well, I do this....
Each night, they have these fancy dinner parties. Mainly it is a good way for everyone to loosen up and get drunk. But not this group.
I ask you another question...What do you do whey you are at a party where everyone is drinking and you are in the small crowd that doesn't? We do this...
After our awesome sober photo shoot and a dazzling game of add-on, the boys wanted to soak in the hot tub. So we girls went back to Liz's room and did this....
